She’s still the girl next door—but he’s a whole new cowboy.
Teague Treadwell always liked Jodi Brand, but it wasn’t until she won Miss Rodeo Wyoming that he realized he loved her—even though she’d buried her tomboy charm under an impenetrable layer of Aquanet and Mary Kay. Becoming rodeo queen earned her a Wrangler modeling contract, a full-ride scholarship, and a first-class ticket out of town—and out of Teague’s reach.
While Jodi was off at college, Teague worked his family out of their battered trailer and into respectability by turning their dying ranch into a first class roughstock operation. He’s providing broncs and bulls to some of the biggest rodeos on the PRCA circuit, and he’s dating a local heiress who’s teaching him to play polo. But his big new house feels too big and too empty, and starched shirts and string ties are strangling the man he used to be.
Jodi’s success as a rodeo queen freed her from the stifling constraints of small town life, but after six years back East she wants nothing more than to shed her sparkle and put her education to work turning her father’s neglected ranch into a therapy riding clinic. When she hires his mentally disabled brother to help out in the barn, Teague insists on getting involved and old sparks ignite.

I can’t think of any way that I would change this totally awesome romance! I got caught up in it and couldn’t put it down until the end only to find myself wanting to know more. After all, who doesn’t love a bad boy trying to be good? (And he’s so good in so many ways!)
A good old-fashioned cowboy romance! Kennedy has the genre down pat with romance, intrigue, danger and some truly laugh-out-loud moments…This is a book that just makes you feel good.
Joanne Kennedy has an uncanny way to bring characters to life with clever dialog, fun situations, and sexy cowboys all wrapped in one great story. Absolutely perfect!
The plot, the characters, the setting worked brilliantly in this book. I found that I truly enjoyed losing myself in the world that Joanne Kennedy created.
Pick up this book and settle in for a few hours of great reading!
Once again, Joanne has delivered a wonderful, heart warming cowboy romance. Her writing keeps getting stronger with each book she writes. She does an amazing job of giving her readers strong, approachable, memorable characters. They are people that one would love to meet and become friends with. If she keeps this up, she will soon be giving Linda Lael Miller a run for her money.
…it offered suspense and mystery that I wasn’t expecting when I started this book, but greatly enjoyed.
Kennedy taps into the timeless, rugged appeal of cowboys…western fans will enjoy Kennedy’s take on the Wyoming landscape, beloved horses, and one tough cowboy.
It has romance, action and horses, but it also has characters that weren’t over the top. It has romance that is beautiful, characters you love — and one you will despise–with a plot that moves beautifully to an ending you will be cheering for. I actually think this is one of my favorites …
Joanne Kennedy is a master at her craft and Cowboy Fever was no exception. The pages will fly by with this heart-felt romance of two very likable characters with a touch of spark and sass. Don’t miss this one!
Once you start it, you can’t put it down. Joanne Kennedy writes a very fun and catchy story that as a reader you easily get swept into… This is just an all around great book. As much as I read, it really takes a lot for a novel to completely sweep me away and this one did so. I strongly recommend this book. If anyone has been curious about the western romance genre, I think this book is excellent to get yourself started.
This is a fast paced, page turning story of romance, sweet sensuality, danger, love, forgiveness, a community coming together, abusive relationships, and a long ago love that would not die with time. If you enjoy a sweet, story with a little wit, deception and a sweet romance then I would highly recommend this story. It will leave you wanting more and feeling good about the characters. Cowboy Fever is a must read story for the summer.
Telling you that I loved it just doesn’t seem to be good enough. I couldn’t put it down…You can bet that this is a book that I will be reading many more times. No doubt one of the best contemporary stories that I have read in a long time.
